What Spunly is

Spunly is a dictation app for macOS (Macs with Apple Silicon, macOS 14 or newer). You press a hotkey, speak, and the recognised text is typed into the app you are working in. Speech recognition runs on your Mac.

The app is free to download and use up to 2,000 words a week. Spunly Pro is a one-time purchase that removes the weekly limit. It is not a subscription and does not renew.

Prices

On spunly.app, Spunly Pro costs $19.99 (US dollars). Depending on your country, VAT or sales tax may be added at checkout. The binding price is the one shown at checkout at the moment of purchase.

Spunly is not yet in the Mac App Store. When it is, Spunly Pro will be an in-app purchase there at the same price, and Apple will set the local price in each country.

Buying on spunly.app

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Paddle’s buyer terms apply to the payment. Paddle sends your receipt, and questions about a charge can also be sent to Paddle through paddle.net.

Once Spunly is in the Mac App Store, purchases in the Mac App Store are made from Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, and the App Store version is licensed under Apple’s standard end user license agreement.

Your license

After the payment goes through, you receive a Spunly Pro license key by email, usually within a few minutes. Enter it in Spunly: Spunly Pro → Enter key. If you lose it, write to us and we will send it again.

The key gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Spunly Pro, with no time limit, on all Macs you personally use. Please don’t publish the key, resell it or use it to unlock Spunly for other people. A key from spunly.app unlocks the version downloaded from this website; a Mac App Store purchase unlocks the App Store version. If you get a refund, the license for that key ends.

Spunly includes open-source components under their own licenses, listed on the credits page. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licenses.

Updates and support

The version from this website updates itself from inside the app. Updates are free; there is no renewal fee. Questions about the app: hello@spunly.app.

Refunds

You can get a full refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason. How: see the refund policy.

Using the app

Speech recognition can make mistakes. Check the text before sending anything important, especially with auto-Enter turned on.

If you enable AI cleanup, you are responsible for your account and API key with the provider you choose, and for complying with that provider’s terms.

Liability

The website and the app are provided as they are. To the extent permitted by law, KERNEXIT S.R.L. is not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the site or the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law that applies to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the product or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. A purchase is governed by the terms in force when it was made.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Moldova, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
